Julen Lopetegui’s West Ham United have certainly been busy in the transfer market this summer with the former Wolves manager replacing David Moyes at the helm.

West Ham have completed the signing of Wolves defender Max Kilman for a fee in the region of £40 million after failing in a bid to sign OGC Nice defender Jean Clair-Todibo, who favours a move to Juventus.

Promising Brazilian midfielder Luis Guilherme has also completed a move to the Hammers, which the club are seemingly very excited about.

It now appears another name is on their radar this summer.

On the 21st of July, Portuguese outlet Record linked West Ham with a move for Jota Silva, with the Portuguese winger available for between £8-10 million this summer, after Portuguese side Vitória de Guimarães slashed his asking price.

Last season for Vitoria in the Primeira Liga, Silva netted 11 times for the Portuguese side and provided five assists which is why the Hammers are reportedly so keen on the 24-year-old forward.

Now, the Portuguese forward has been quesioned about a possible move to West Ham this summer and was very professional in his response when he spoke to O Jogo.

“Clearly, my mind is on Vitória,” Silva said. “I don’t predict the future, neither I nor anyone else. I hold on tight to the present, as does the club. You can expect the same spirit of work. My mind is solely and exclusively here at Vitória.”

Jota Silva jokingly likened to Jack Grealish by Bernardo Silva

Little is known about the Portuguese forward apart from his goalscoring knack for the Portuguese club.

However, Manchester City winger Bernardo Silva, speaking about Jota during international duty, likened the 24-year-old to Jack Grealish but not because of his playstyle.

Silva joked that Silva looked exactly like City’s Jack Grealish in a rather amusing moment during international duty.

Looking at his performances on the pitch, Jota was hailed for his goalscoring antics for Vitoria with Portuguese newspaper Record labelling the winger as a ‘hero’.

For the low fee that has been mooted, he could be a very interesting signing for the Hammers this summer.
