Once again, frigid temperatures blanket the Treasure Valley Tuesday morning. On the bright side, overnight lows throughout much of the Treasure Valley have been roughly ten degrees warmer from Monday morning. On Monday, record cold blanketed much of the region with several cities setting new records for overnight lows.

In Boise, a new record of just 17 degrees was recorded beating the previous record of 19 degrees set back in 1878. McCall tied its previous record low with just 10 degrees reported. The coldest spot was Fairfield, ID coming in at zero which beat the previous record of just 8 degrees from 1948. The cold air mass, thanks to our weekend storm system, has made it feel more like early winter than mid fall.

Fall-like temperatures will once again return to the region as high pressure takes over the forecast. Daytime highs will slowly rebound to near average highs by Wednesday and should reach the low 60's for the remainder of the week. Little change to the weather pattern is expected into the weekend and sunshine is expected to continue. On Halloween, temperatures are expected to reach the low 60's once again with mostly clear skies.
