Angie Dickinson Regretted Playing "Police Woman"

She felt she wasted four years of her life starring in this iconic television show. She wasn't even well-paid for it, she claims. She only agreed to undertake this because the potential boost it would give to her career, making her name more well-known to the public.

So now she's playing Homeless Woman?

What, did she think that if she hadn't done the show, some fabulous movie offers would have appeared?

She was an actress who was better known for sex appeal than talent, she was lucky to get the TV work.

She did worse than that, R4. During those Police Woman years she did a nude poster sitting bared assed with her arms wrapped around her knees holiding a martini with only her crossed ankles hid her vag. She looked more than willing.

R8, She was also the spokesperson for the avocado industry during those years, posing languidly in just a sweater.

She was already a "household name" when "Police Woman" was offered to her, having appeared in a number of movies, television shows and talk shows, plus her high profile marriage to Bacharach brought her even more coverage in the media.

She was over forty, she had to take what she can get.

Now that she's old and maybe not completely on top of things, she wants to blame the decline of her career on the TV show, and not aging. In that case, sure, honey, it was the TV show. Want some pudding?

I never pegged her as one to linger over regrets.

Which begs the question: why? Who in the world wanted to hear from Miss Dickinson at this point in time?

Angie denied having an affair with JFK, while two photos of him were on display in the bookcase behind her.

When Mo asked her what does she think of when she looks out at the fabulous view from her Beverly Hills home, she replied, "That I hope I never die . . .".

The animosity for this woman is shocking. What's the matter, people? Is she too opinionated for DL?

What she doesn't mention is that she probably regrets not spending more time with her daughter, who has some sort of emotional development disorder and was basically disowned by father Burt Bacharach.

After watching the clip, it appears she was wary of doing a series because of the hard work involved -- 22 episodes per season of an hour-long drama playing the lead character -- thus I suspect the unsaid regret is that it took her away from her daughter at a young age -- she would've been 8 years old when the show started in 1974.

I never see Police Woman in reruns. For such a well known show and actress it’s weird it doesn’t get shown more. I’m pushing 50 and have never seen an episode.
