The Germany international is reportedly available this summer, and he would be an excellent addition to the Liverpool squad.
Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp will surely be determined to add a top class goalkeeper to his ranks at Anfield this summer, in the hope of guiding his side to their first top flight title since 1990.
According to the Sun, Bayer Leverkusen stopper Bernd Leno could be available for just €20 million (£17.4 million) this summer, and he would be ideal for the Reds.
The Germany international has played his entire career with Leverkusen, making 289 appearances thus far – quite some feat for someone who is only 26-years-old.
Standing at 6ft 3in tall, Leno cuts an imposing physical presence, and is an excellent shot-stopper. He commands his penalty area with authority – something that Liverpool have desperately lacked from their goalkeepers in recent years.
The Leverkusen man also possesses excellent distribution skills , and he would undoubtedly help the Merseyside outfit improve upon their ability to play out from the back.
Liverpool will be hoping to make a sustained push for the Premier League title next season, and having Leno between the sticks would surely put them in a fantastic position from which to topple Manchester City.
The Reds have one of the most dangerous forward lines in Europe, and for just £17.4 million, they could transform their back-line into a first class unit as well.
