Bradley Coopers transformation into Leonard Bernstein is STUNNING

[quote]Spaniards are white Europeans. Just like Carey Mulligan. It's not racist to cast a white person as a white person, even if the white person that the white person is playing is of the spicy white variety.

Of, course it's not racist. But, people just don't get that the casting was racist. After viewing the twitter bitch fests, I find it interesting that these four people are the biggest whiners about the situation and one would think they would have good understanding of race vs ethnicity based on their backgrounds and education.

I cracked up at this blogger who starts off by saying she loves Carey Mulligan, but then goes to bitch about Mulligan's role in Drive was changed from Latina in the book to non-Latina for the film adaptation. The director of Drive was the one who would change things around that's on him not Mulligan. Also, changing races or ethnicities from books for movie and TV adaptations is quite common.

[quote]The Cine Latino Blog [quote]@cinelatinoblog [quote]DISCLAIMER: I love Carey Mulligan! However… If I had a nickel for every time she took a role meant for a Latina, I’d have two nickels which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice…

Next person is a writer and host for mtvmovies and is based in London. She like the person above is still angry about the stupid Drive movie casting and somewhere in her twitter she blames Mulligan for Drive as well. [quote]Hanna Ines Flint [quote]@HannaFlint [quote]May 30 [quote]Kinda sucks that Carey Mulligan is white washing a Latina role again, this time as Felicia Montealegre in the Bernstein biopic.

Next person is a editor for Variety and lists himself as Black Latino. It's weird how he's ignoring that Latino/Latina isn't a race here so he could bitch about Mulligan.

[quote]Clayton Davis - Stand with 🇺🇦 [quote]@ByClaytonDavis [quote]Love me some Carey Mulligan but once again, a Latino role - Chilean Felicia Montealegre - is in the hands of a White actress when Latina actresses are more than available. But people will say, "it's called acting" and not acknowledge it b/c why should we speak up for ourselves?

The last person is a writer for a Latino website Rezmezcla and also does editing for Comic Book Resources. She comes off as quite insufferable about Mulligan and the casting. If you visit Lissete's site lizziewrotethat.com, she mentions being born in Panama and getting a from University of Barcelona. She writes pieces for site called Fangirlish and does podcasts about comic books. It's hilarious that she's so offended by Mulligan's casting. Yet, she fangirls over media that isn't really Latino centric. Lissette comes off as someone desperate to be seen as very woke.

[quote]Lissete Lanuza Sáenz ✨ [quote]@lizziethat [quote]just so we're all clear, if i ever become famous and someone wants to do a biopic of me, DO NOT cast a white actress, please and thank you. sincerely, a (white) latina

I wouldn't be surprised if the guy who is a Variety editor ends up scrubbing his tweets about Mulligan. It's hilarious how that moron works in entertainment journalism and tries to makes himself look like Mulligan fan.

I'm already rooting for Mulligan to win an Oscar lol just to shut up these people.
