Besiktas have completed the £7.5 million signing of Burnley target Amir Hadziahmetovic and former Real Madrid playmaker Isco could now replace the Bosnia international at Konyaspor, according to Milliyet

A couple of weeks ago, Burnley found themselves in the middle of a transfer tug-of-war; Besiktas holding one end of the rope and Manchester United gripping the other. Wout Weghorst, after a protracted negotiation, eventually sealed a dream move to Old Trafford.

Now, Vincent Kompany’s Championship leaders have played their part in a saga that could end up with Isco swapping La Liga for Turkey.

Burnley, per Sporx, offered £4.5 million for Hadziahmetovic during the January transfer window. The stylish midfielder rebuffed the Premier League-bound Clarets in favour of Besiktas, however, and the Istanbul giants have now completed a deal that sees Hadziahmetovic arrive at the Vodafone Arena for up to £7.5 million.

Besiktas beat Burnley to Amir Hadziahmetovic

“I was very touched when I received the first offer from Besiktas,” explains the 25-year-old. “Receiving an offer from the club I was a fan of before made me very happy.

“There were offers from different clubs. (But) I waited patiently, and made the necessary sacrifice to become a Besiktas playr. The support of the fans on social media also made me very happy. I came to Besiktas to experience (winning) championships.”

Hadziahmetovic, a ‘super’ player with a mean free-kick, scored six goals and set up four more during the first half of this season. Even a man with Isco’s glittering CV would have big shoes to fill if he steps into a Hadziahmetovic-shaped void in the Konyaspor midfield.

“We are in negotiations with Isco,” Konyaspor’s vice-president Mehmet Akcan says, via AS.

“I can tell you that the talks are going well. We are not yet sure if we have reached an agreement, otherwise we would say so openly. (But) we are doing everything possible to close the signing.

“I think everything will be resolved with Isco. One way or another. As soon as possible. Now, we have an opportunity to close this signing. We are positive.”

Isco, a five-time Champions League winner with Real Madrid, is a free-agent following a difficult spell at Sevilla. He has been linked with a shock move to Everton, and saw a switch to Union Berlin collapse.
