GL delivers award-winning content through a robust editorial lens: fashion, beauty, career, empowerment, health, body, crushes, decor, family, friends, fun, celebs, current events and more.

About the position
We’re seeking the next talented member to join our team for a full-time position at our editorial headquarters in Baltimore beginning immediately. Here’s a general rundown of what the position may involve…
• EDITORIAL (PRINT): Contribute to editorial planning; pitch, assign and/or write for the magazine; proof-read pages in AP style
• EDITORIAL (DIGITAL): Plan, assign, edit and post content on girlslife.com
• SOCIAL: Contribute content/ideas/strategy across all social media platforms; assist with operations and performance analytics
• EVENTS: Assist with planning and execution of signature GL events (such as GL’s annual Fashion Bash, Rock Your Life conference and Fitness Fest)
• MARKETING: Manage branded content campaigns; includes generating ideas, executing plans, reporting, etc.

The ideal candidate…
+ is hyper organized with a strong attention to detail
+ able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
+ is self-motivated and eager to take ideas/projects and run with them
+ is obsessed with consuming and creating great content
+ understands how to create content that drives traffic and engagement
+ has a strong understanding of the teen/women’s lifestyle space
+ understands the GIRLS’ LIFE voice and brand
+ has exceptional writing and communication skills
+ has experience with CMS and publishing platforms
+ has strong editing skills (AP style), knowledge of SEO and social best practices
+ is an avid reader of magazines, blogs, newsletters and other media
+ has experience using analytics platforms like Google Analytics
+ is interested in fashion, beauty, fitness, entertainment, books, decor and lifestyle
+ is a creative and conceptual thinker
+ has at least one year of relevant work or internship experience (journalism, marketing, social media or related area)
