Corey Proctor, the owner of the Franklin Spring Academy Child Care Center in Chapel Hill, Tennessee  has been arrested on charges of r*pe and incest.

His arrest has alarmed parents whose children attend the facility and for one mother, led her to reveal her feelings of guilt over sending her child to his facility.

Corey Proctor, 35, of Shelbyville, operates the Chapel Hill based child care facility Franklin Springs Academy and owns other businesses in the area.

Proctor’s arrest prompted a parent whose daughter was in the school to speak up about her own horrible experience with the facility and to call on other parents to pull out their wards.

“Last November we immediately pulled our daughter out of Franklin Springs Academy in Chapel Hill TN because she came home with an untreated open wound that we still do not know how it occurred. We had filed a case with DHS, etc and were told there was not enough evidence to do anything about it,” Kate Dubina said.

She added: “The owner, Corey Proctor was arrested last night on 2 counts of rape. Do not send your children here, they are not safe here. I have seen and read countless stories of abuse on social media groups. The fact that the state of Tennessee allows these people to run a childcare center is despicable and disgusting. I am disappointed in our justice system,”

A report from WSMV4 News Anchor Amanda Hara released in February this year had also found incidents of serious child abuse at the facility by some teachers. The report, even more disturbingly, discovered that the mechanism for such conduct to be reported to the Tennessee Department of Human Services to enable parents make informed choices about where to place their wards, was not being followed at Franklin Springs Academy.

In the days to come it’s likely more parents would start speaking out about what their children have faced at the Chapel Hill based facility.
