Dream Oaks Camp is a place where a child is recognized as an individual, not by their disability, a place where “the things that make us different, make us beautiful.” We focus on what a child can do, not what they cannot! For this reason, every camp theme and activity is designed to meet the specific needs of each child by modifying strategies to encourage participation of all campers and to highlight their strengths rather than their limitations. Activities such as horseback riding, canoeing, boating, swimming, arts & crafts, sensory play, scavenger hunts and more are all adapted to help campers grow their skills, confidence and independence while building meaningful relationships! At camp, children can try new things and have fun while progressing towards goals/productive behaviors. Not only are there benefits for children, but parents/caregivers receive a period of unique, extended respite that allows them to recharge their batteries, spend time with loved ones, and relax!

We accept children with a wide range of special needs and chronic illnesses ages 7-17 years old.

We offer both day camp and residential camp throughout the summer.

While our camp is full of fun, exciting and unique experiences for children with special needs & chronic illnesses, we have a deeper focus of building a more comprehensive skill set and productive behaviors with the children we serve. As a parent/caregiver, you will have the opportunity to choose 2-3 goals you would like your child to progress towards during the camp session. These goals can fall within 4 domains: health/hygiene, behavioral skills, activities of daily living, and social interaction. While your child is having a BLAST at camp, our staff will be working with them to achieve these individualized goals!

Summer Day Camp: $400/week
Summer Residential Camp: $650/week

Financial aid and scholarships are available for families that need assistance. Over 90% of our families receive some form of financial assistance.

You can find our camp application on the home page of our website: www.foundationfordreams.org under the "Annual Camp Registration" button.

Business Review

"My son LOVES Dream Oaks Camp more than you can possibly know. He literally looks forward to it ALL year and compares every happy emotion he has with how it feels to be there. He has Autism spectrum disorder, ADHD and OCD. Like most kids with ASD he struggles to find a place where he truly fits in and is always left feeling like he does not quite belong. Dream Oaks is the place where he belongs! He packs weeks ahead and leaves his stuff by the front door. Although he typically has difficulty giving out hugs, he always hugs his counselor the moment he meets them, because he 'already knows he will love them.' This kid needs Dream Oaks Camp."

"My son couldn't wait to come back to camp. Even with limited verbal skills, he talks about Dream Oaks all the time. He has a countdown calendar on the fridge! While he was at camp, we were able to go out as a family and celebrate a birthday. I even took a much needed nap- haven't done that in years! I got to spend uninterrupted quality time with my other children that is usually trumped by what my son wants or needs in that moment. I feel like I got to know my other children better in one short weekend than I have in months."
