The non-profit organization, Girls on the Run Treasure Valley, recently received a $3,500 grant from the Idaho Resilience Project to help get girls into “Camp GOTR.”

Allison Evaro, the Executive Director of Girls on the Run Treasure Valley, said, “It is our half-day camp that we offer for one week. And they do some arts and crafts and physical activity games -- lots of fun, interactive activities for these girls."

She explains the girls not only have a lot of fun but also make new friends and improve their social skills.

"Here at camp, we just want them to be joyful and healthy and gain some skills and knowledge about themselves, build that confidence, and send them out to be resilient and help them know that they can accomplish whatever they want," said Evaro.

This week’s Camp GOTR is the 3rd and final one of the summer.

Girls on the Run is already pivoting to their regular, fall program. This year, the organization hopes to be in 55 elementary schools in the valley.
