The Indian driver was part of the Red Bull junior program and thus had the pressure to perform in GP2. Subsequently, Chandhok made his F1 debut in 2010 with the Hispania Racing Team.

Unfortunately, Chandhok’s time in F1 was short-lived. Karun was replaced by mid-season in 2010 due to financial reasons by HRT. In 2011, Karun Chandhok only got one Grand Prix outing to his name for Team Lotus. The 39-year-old drove in Formula E’s inaugural season for Mahindra Racing, while also taking a few shots at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Presently, Chandhok informs the fans about the ins and outs of the sport for Sky’s F1 coverage.
