HITC understands that one of the most in-demand young centre-backs in world football has made it clear to other interested sides that he favours a move to Real Madrid.

Leny Yoro, the LOSC Lille teenager, has had an outstanding 12 months with this campaign being his real breakthrough as a world-class defensive prospect and the Frenchman is just 18 years of age.

There has been interest from a trio of Premier League clubs with Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United keeping a close eye on his development and that interest has only heightened this season due to the defender having just 12 months left on his contract.

Lille are understandably desperate to tie him down to a long-term deal, but as yet nothing has been agreed.

Yoro’s preference despite England interest

HITC can report that the defender is keen on making a move to Real Madrid, this is despite a club from England working hard to sign the Frenchman.

We can reveal that Liverpool, in particular, have been working hard to try and convince the player that a move to Anfield would be best for his development, but they are aware that the defender’s preference is the Spanish capital.

Likewise Paris Saint-Germain, who are also very keen, do not believe a move to the French capital is top of Yoro’s list of options and that is because the player is aware that Madrid are keen.

This season for Lille, Yoro has made 32 Ligue 1 appearances and has scored two goals in the process. He has also made featured seven times in the Europa Conference League for the French side.

Yoro could run down his contract

The other option for Madrid, if they fail to sign the defender this summer, is to wait for the teenager’s contract at Lille to expire and then sign Yoro on a free in 2025, which is something that the Spanish side are considering.

With a deal still a year away, this is why other suitors feel they could yet land Yoro this summer. However, if Yoro does wait – he would be free to join a club of his choice next summer, as he has seen fellow countryman Kylian Mbappe do this summer, when signing for Real.

Yoro, who has been included in France’s Olympic squad, was also in attendance at Wembley to see Real beat Borussia Dortmund, as per his Instagram.
