Your kids need their hair cut - where do you go? This past week I took both kids (Peyton age 7 and Abbey age 1) to Lil' Divas and Dudes Salon and Day Spa, which is a salon that caters specifically to children.
Upon arrival, we were enthusiastically greeted by the owner, Matt, and introduced to our stylists. The salon is decorated in a gender-neutral fashion - a jungle theme with snakes and monkeys hanging off the ceiling and even a huge alligator head. Balloons are everywhere! During our short wait the kids were entertained in the play area and I enjoyed a complimentary coffee and muffin.
I am pleased to say that the haircuts went off uneventfully! Of course Peyton had been to a salon before, but this being Abbey’s first trip I was not sure how she would handle it. The stylist was very patient with her and made sure she was happy and preoccupied before cutting her hair. This was a pretty easy thing to do as there is so much to do during the hair cut that I think the kids forget they are getting their hair cut! Instead of regular salon chairs, kids can opt to sit in cars or airplanes, complete with steering wheels. If they get tired of driving they can pick out a movie to watch on their own personal DVD or look at a variety of books. 
Regular salon chairs are available as well for older children.

I was overall very well pleased with the level of service that we received, the special attention that my children got and, of course, the haircuts! Getting your child's hair cut for the first time can be a traumatic experience for both the child and the parent, but not at Lil Divas and Dudes! Abbey’s first hair cut was an overwhelming success and we even got a first time haircut certificate, a balloon and lollipop! Thank you Lil Divas and Dudes for a wonderful experience!
