Ladies and gentlemen, we have a new Miss Universe.

Gabriela Isler earned the title tonight during an evening of colorful costumes and elegant gowns in Moscow’s Crocus City Hall.

The 25-year old because the seventh Venezuelan to ever take home this honor, receiving the crown after her name was announced by last year’s winner, Olivia Culpo.

Thomas Roberts and Melanie Brown hosted the event, while the judges included an unusual mix of stars: Tara Lipinski, Anne V, Philiph Kirov, Carol Alt, Farouk Shami and Steven Tyler.

The contest started with 87 women vying to be Miss Universe, though that number was quickly whittled to 16.

Isler apparently earned major points for her answer to the question of her biggest fear and how she plans to overcome it, telling Tyler on stage and the thousands in attendance:

"We should overcome all our fears and this in turn would make us stronger. As soon as we overcome our fears, we can face any challenge."

Hard to argue with those points, isn’t it?

According to her bio on the Miss Universe website, Isler began taking flamenco dance lessons when she was a child.

She also considers herself to be a "second mother" to her niece and her values include "being at home" and spending time with "the people she loves." Her mother is her top role model.

Congratulations to Gabriela Isler!
