Paige Bueckers is the biggest name remaining in women’s college basketball now that Caitlyn Clark and Angel Reese have moved on to the pros.

With the new season looming, the weight of the sport – at the amateur level, at least – is largely on Bueckers’ back.

Because of how massive of a star she is these days, Bueckers has gone viral repeatedly over the past few months. First for wearing a really controversial shirt to a game, then for her private photos leaking out.

This weekend Bueckers attended the WNBA’s All-Star game festivities. Fans at home couldn’t get over her outfit choice to the event:

Big picture – Bueckers is a huge star. Obviously she is going to be the top overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft, but she also has a certain swagger about her that may permit her to be a transcendent figure within the sport.

There is an argument to be made that a WNBA headlined by Bueckers, Clark and Reese is arguably more interesting than what the NBA is putting on the table these days.

Bueckers’ headline-making ability has served her well thus far and will likely only intensify going forward. If she is causing this sort of ruckus now, she may turn into the biggest name in all of basketball when she finally turns pro.

A graduate from the University of Texas, Anthony Amador has been credentialed to cover the Houston Texans, Dallas Cowboys, San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Mavericks and high school games all over the Lone Star State. Currently, his primary beats are the NBA, MLB, NFL and UFC.
