A roof over one of Parma Furniture's warehouses has collapsed, according to the Idaho Press-Tribune.

The appliance warehouse is located at 313 E. Main Street in Parma. The collapse happened around 11 a.m. Tuesday. Most of the roof collapsed, and merchandise is buried under debris and snow.

Cheryl Padilla, secretary for the store, confirmed the collapse Tuesday afternoon but did not know the extent of the damage to the roof or the appliances kept in the warehouse. No one was injured, but the state of the appliances inside the warehouse is unknown.

“We’re talking washers, dryers, refrigerators, dishwashers, microwaves, and then anywhere from twin to king size mattresses and box springs,” said Shelby Hilliard, a salesperson for Parma Furniture.

Hillard says both the warehouse and its contents are insured.

“We’ll just have to get in there and see what’s damaged and what’s destroyed and just go from there.”

Until then, Parma Furniture staff remain optimistic.

"We might be here all night," said warehouse manager Jody Hilliard. "(The store) will continue and we will get through this."

The loss of merchandise and costs of repairs are to be determined.

Only the back wall and the roof covering that portion remain intact. Most of the roof collapsed inward.

The main store, Parma Furniture, is open for business. The store has been in business since 1961, according to Hilliard.
