The Golden State Warriors’ Jonathan Kuminga has been nothing short of inspiring in his performances for his team, where he has helped them in moving forward, and with his elite athleticism, he has made an impact on court whenever he has played.

The 19-year-old Kuminga has had various opportunities to impress his viewers through the Golden State Warriors’ team where he plays alongside the likes of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and many other great players, which offers him the opportunity to perform to the best of his abilities, and just like that, Kuminga got another opportunity to impress the NBA world when he got to face off against the Los Angeles Lakers led by LeBron James, who was to be guarded by Kuminga.

The Warriors won by a 2-point margin, which in itself tells you that Kuminga’s performance definitely worked out for the Warriors who managed to beat the struggling Lakers who had their sole chance of survival in LeBron James who was to be handled by Kuminga.

Kuminga who added 18 points along with 9 rebounds for the Warriors which helped them in taking the victory against their counterpart, the Lakers, who are having a slumpy performance this season, and haven’t been able to do anything in order to turn the tides in their favour, therefore further worsening their record and chances of getting into the playoffs this season.

Let us take a closer look at what Jonathan Kuminga had to say about his counterpart in line of duty, LeBron James, who he grew up watching.

Jonathan Kuminga asses his own and LeBron’s performance in his match against the Lakers

Kuminga got an opportunity to start the game against the Los Angeles Lakers, and Kuminga made the best out of this opportunity, is the least that we can say. Kuminga added 18 points and 9 rebounds to the Warriors’ table which helped them in taking over the match in the closing minutes of the match where the Lakers fell short in putting in the best of their efforts.

Kuminga was honest with his assessment of his own performance and LeBron’s performance in the Lakers vs Warriors match which the Warriors won by 2-points. When he was asked the question of what it felt like to start for the Warriors and play against LeBron James, following which another question was asked about his opinions of LeBron’s performance in the match, Kuminga first said that it was very cool to play against LeBron James as he was someone Kuminga watched while growing up and just like him, every other kid did.

LeBron has been one of the most inspiring players in the lives of most of the kids from this generation as he tends to be the icon and face of basketball in this generation.

Kuminga went on to say that the duty assigned to him was to come face-to-face with LeBron James and guard him and he felt that LeBron did okay in the Lakers’ performance against the Warriors.

Kuminga didn’t add anything more than saying that LeBron’s performance was okay. Another question asked to him was about the talent of LeBron James and if there was anyone more talented than LeBron who Kuminga had faced, answering to which, Kuminga said that LeBron was one of the most talented players he had played against but Julius Randle was way more physical and keeping that aside, LeBron is super talented and that his passes are very accurate which helps him in controlling the game.

Kuminga also said that he enjoyed playing the game of basketball and playing against legends like LeBron definitely made it more special keeping in mind that one day these players would retire and he would get to learn things from them and gather information from their playing style before they eventually do retire.

Warriors vs Lakers, 117-115

Golden State Warriors took a small margin victory against the Los Angeles Lakers who have already been struggling to find form and make a place for themselves in the playoffs, which seems nothing less than a farfetched dream right now.

Klay Thompson led the way for the Warriors with 33 points and 5 rebounds followed by Steph Curry who scored 24 points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds, and then Andrew Wiggins who scored 19 points.

Jonathan Kuminga’s performance against the Lakers played a pivotal role in the Warriors’ victory against the Lakers as he managed to contain LeBron James’ affect to some extent therefore, helping the team in attaining victory.

The man LeBron James stepped up for the Lakers, scoring 26 points, 8 assists and 15 rebounds while Russell Westbrook followed him with 19 points and Talen Horton-Tucker followed up with 17 points to his name, which unfortunately was an effort not enough to win against the Warriors who are already in great form after the return of Klay Thompson and the regained shooting consistency of Stephen Curry.
