The Apex Predator was recently involved in a rivalry with Logan Paul and tried to win the United States title for the second time in his career. However, due to shenanigans from outside the ring, The Maverick retained the title at WrestleMania XL. Orton then shifted his focus to the prize he had never won before, the King of the Ring tournament.

So I don't see any reason why I gotta leave. I see being a part of the WWE family from here on out and if I would've been able to go back to WWE, I would've coached and trained.

However, he lost controversially in the finals against Gunther at the King and Queen of the Ring PLE.
