Tasteless friends....Trevor Noah's new $20 million house

Where is he getting that kind of money? He's only making a fraction of that for hosting the Daily Show and he has no current or prior movie/TV career. I actually like the house although it lacks sufficient privacy to be livable.

Is the selling agent the husband of one of those real housewives reality shows?

Trevor Noah's autobiography is a great book. Off topic I know, but I really enjoyed reading it.

by Anonymousreply 2January 8, 2019 4:50 PM

That's going to be a booger to vacuum.

Lovely house but a 2200 sf master bedroom suite? Wtf? He cant have that many shoes.

by Anonymousreply 5January 8, 2019 5:01 PM

Are we sure he's not just renting it?

by Anonymousreply 6January 8, 2019 5:01 PM

^ Never mind. I read the headline.

Anyway, he's just doing what most people do: "buying" a house that costs more than his annual salary by taking out a mortgage loan.

The Daily Show films in NY right, why drop all this money into a LA house?

by Anonymousreply 8January 8, 2019 5:04 PM

Yes, R1 - Mauricio is the husband of Kyle Richards, of "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills; the other co-listing agent, James Harris is on "Million Dollar Listing: Los Angeles"

by Anonymousreply 10January 8, 2019 5:28 PM

R8 i thought that too; how much time could he possibly spend in LA if he does a DAILY TELEVISION SHOW in NYC.

Maybe he's going to turn it into an AirBNB rental!

by Anonymousreply 12January 8, 2019 5:57 PM

A fool and his money are soon parted.

This will be over in 10-15 years.

by Anonymousreply 13January 8, 2019 6:19 PM

R8 maybe cause not everyone loves living in NYC. I’ve met many who move here and leave soon after. I know people that love to visit but would never live here. And I know people that won’t even visit.

Porn star Dante Colle said he hated NYC so much. He was here for a few days and said he has zero desire to ever come back. He loves LA however and recently moved there.

by Anonymousreply 14January 8, 2019 6:33 PM

So either Comedy Central is planning to relocate the studio to LA, or Noah is planning to leave the show and relocate his career to LA.

by Anonymousreply 15January 8, 2019 6:34 PM

My point has nothing to do with what he likes r14, but where his job is.

by Anonymousreply 16January 8, 2019 6:41 PM

new money goes quickly. he will wish he had saved a little bit when his show is cancelled and he trys to sell in a down market

by Anonymousreply 17January 8, 2019 6:53 PM

A lot of people are buying and then reselling for more. I think that’s what he’s doing.

by Anonymousreply 18January 8, 2019 6:56 PM

r18......yea until the musical chairs stops and someone is left with the dump

by Anonymousreply 19January 9, 2019 10:50 PM

He's talentless ,sanctimonious and smug. Even his facial expressions irk me. I gave his show chance after chance thinking that he would surely improve but he hasn't. What was Jon Stewart thinking? There had to be better candidates out there.

by Anonymousreply 20January 9, 2019 11:10 PM

It's called a mortgage. You put some money down and pay the rest off for the next thirty years. Don't know why everyone thinks all celebrities pay full cash upfront.

by Anonymousreply 21January 9, 2019 11:20 PM

Put a down payment, rent the house, sell it in 7 or 8 years

by Anonymousreply 22January 10, 2019 4:39 AM

[quote]Porn star Dante Colle said he hated NYC so much. He was here for a few days and said he has zero desire to ever come back.

Oh, well then! A porn star says NYC is over! I'll alert the media and get everyone packed up!

by Anonymousreply 24July 31, 2020 5:16 AM

I’ve never gotten him. Must be a generational thing.

by Anonymousreply 25July 31, 2020 5:17 AM

R24, Dante Colle happens to be a genius.

I suspect Trevor has a great big shvantz.

by Anonymousreply 27July 31, 2020 5:35 AM

How much property taxes do you pay for a $20m house in L.A.?

A friend built a $3 million home in Texas and almost pays $100k a year. Property taxes in L.A. must be astronomical compared to Texas.

by Anonymousreply 28July 31, 2020 6:06 AM

I will say this until I die. What happens to people when they become celebrities? They all need to live in glass boxes that look like they belong in "modern" suburban office parks. Do they like to pretend they live in a TV set?

by Anonymousreply 30July 31, 2020 6:34 AM

You should stop saying it a few years before you die. Give us a break already.

by Anonymousreply 31July 31, 2020 6:35 AM

So he’s going to live in an office complex?

by Anonymousreply 32July 31, 2020 6:36 AM

Uh, most people buy houses that cost more than what they make in a year. That's what mortgages are for.

He's young, popular and on a successful show. He also writes books and he tours. Trevor shouldn't be hurting for money anytime soon.

Cute house. A bit too open for my taste but it's certainly very stylish.

Good for him.

by Anonymousreply 33July 31, 2020 6:40 AM

Did you notice the longer he lets his hair grow the more black he looks?

by Anonymousreply 34July 31, 2020 7:59 AM

I don't think he's talented at all....but I do think he is adorable. Why is he not a DL fave? He's actually pretty dreamy.

by Anonymousreply 35July 31, 2020 11:49 AM

I could see us fucking ALL OVER this home. Call me Trevor! 😍

by Anonymousreply 36July 31, 2020 1:36 PM

Property taxes are around 1.25% of the assessed value of the property. But at least with Prop. 13, they don't go up dramatically if the property goes up in value.
