Tottenham Hotspur will be playing Europa League football next season and they desperately need to bulk up their squad.

In Ange Postecoglou’s first season in charge, they improved on the previous campaign and transformed the style of play, but struggled when certain players got injured.

Daniel Levy needs to push the boat out this summer and improve the Tottenham squad, or else, they will go backwards again.

Darren Ambrose has admitted that it’s ‘frustrating’ that there isn’t much talk about who the club will sign this summer.

The former Premier League midfielder, who is a boyhood Spurs fan, admitted that he wakes up looking and following the transfer rumour mill.

Yet, there is very little on the London club, who have only announced the return of Timo Werner on a season-long loan deal and even that has perplexed some.

But one name Ambrose brought up that is being talked about is Chelsea midfielder, Conor Gallagher.

Sources have told HITC that Spurs are interested in the Euro 2024 star, as contract talks stall at Stamford Bridge.

Yes, Gallagher has experience of playing in the Premier League and the Champions League, but Ambrose stated that ‘a lot’ of Spurs fans are ‘against’ the idea of him joining, as he told talkSPORT

This is a strange one because it seems as though Gallagher doesn’t want to leave Chelsea, but he has 12 months left on his contract and they aren’t willing to offer him new terms.

Ange Postecoglou to sign Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher?

“It’s frustrating,” responded Ambrose on the lack of Tottenham transfer news. “I wake up every morning, look at the rumour mill and see ‘are we linked with anyone?’ No, we aren’t linked with anyone.

“Conor Gallagher, every now and then, comes into mind. A lot of the replies (from Tottenham fans) were against it. Is he much better than Hojbjerg? I don’t think so.”

Conor Gallagher at Euro 2024 with England

Even though Chelsea’s campaign was up and down, Gallagher was one of his side’s better players and his form got him into the England squad for Euro 2024.

The 24-year-old didn’t start England’s opening two games – a drab 1-0 win over Serbia and a lucky 1-1 draw against Denmark – but he was brought into the XI for the Slovenia game on Tuesday night.

Gareth Southgate’s side are already through to the knockout stages, it’s just about finding out who their opponents are going to be for the last 16.

But this is Gallagher’s chance to stamp his authority in the XI and prove those people who are questioning him wrong.
