Warzone 2’s Al Mazrah Map, which is the primary map for Special Ops and Ground Wars game modes and also features 9 classic Maps from Call of Duty, is getting a roster expansion. The existing map from the 13th Campaign Mission, where the player needs to use stealth and survive in the streets of the city of Las Almas, based in Mexico, while surviving from the Shadow Company, is making its way to the Warzone 2 Map Pool. It will be a new map in addition to the existing 9-map pool.

Las Almas is assumed to be the next Warzone map. This map can be found in the MW2 campaign.

Several parts Las Almas are already used as multiplayer maps in Modern Warfare 2, such as the Santa Sena border crossing and Mercado Las Almas.

Players have been eagerly waiting for new Warzone 2 Maps lately because of the constant repetitiveness of older maps in multiplayer game mode. The addition of Las Almas into the map pool is exhilarating to the Warzone player base, as they can now demolish other competitive players on a new game map. However, Las Almas is not entirely foreign to the multiplayer map pool. Regions like The Santa Sena border crossing and Mercado Las Almas are Modern Warfare 2 game regions.

Warzone 2 & Modern Warfare 2 Map: Las Almas

Las Almas is a fictional city based in the region of New Mexico. This map is part of the 13th Campaign mission of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. This mission requires the player to make their make while surviving the Shadow Company stealthily. Las Almas is a hilly area in northern Mexico, right on the border with Texas in the United States.

There is primarily woodland and at least one river in the area. Las Almas and Olmeda are the two cities in this region. This map will prove to be a good addition to the existing map pool of Warzone 2.

History of Las Almas: The Upcoming Warzone 2 Map

Las Almas has a lot of lore history, which is really interesting in terms of the game lore. One such snippet is The Massacre by Shadow Company. Shadow Company, led by Phillip Graves, began unlawfully searching Las Almas for Ghost, Soap, and Hassan Zayani at midnight on November 3, 2022. They took over the city cathedral and north plaza. Mercenaries would break into homes and kill citizens, cartel sicarios, and corrupt officers, even burning homes and separating children from their families. Ghost and Soap escaped to Alejandro’s safe house, which Shadow Company had imprisoned, and Shadow Company failed to achieve their goals.

After Ghost, Soap, and Rodolfo Parra infiltrated the abandoned maximum-security prison, now Shadow Company’s detainment facility, and freed Alejandro and Los Vaqueros, Shadow Company fought them until Captain John Price and Lieutenant Kyle Garrick arrived, following Kate Laswell’s warning after General Sheperd cut his communications.

Overall, the inclusion of a new map to Warzone 2 is a welcoming offer for the player base. A new map and newer settings can result in a boost in the active player base too!
