The 2023 cup season will mark the 75th-anniversary edition of the sport, and NASCAR will flag off the celebrations by Feilding a float in the annual Ross Parade. Record seven times cup champion Ricard Petty’s presence was the biggest attraction to the float. He will be joined by Rajah Caruth, who drives for him in the Truck series.

The float named “always forward“ will feature Richard Petty’s iconic No:43 car alongside him. It will also feature the No:24 and No:3 vehicles driven by NASCAR legends Jeff Gordan and Dale Earnhardt. The backdrop of the float will be the iconic LA memorial Callosum, where the unofficial 2023 season opener, the Clash at The Coliseum, will take place.

The Ross Parade, a non-profit volunteer driver program as part of the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association, celebrates 134 years of success. NASCAR will commemorate the organization by providing the Association‘s 935 volunteers tickets to the LA Clash nd the Auto Club Speedway race.

“This is going to be a great way to start 2023. It‘s nothing short of an honor to ride along with Richard Petty in the Rose Parade and help introduce our sport to new audiences in Southern California and around the world,” Rajah Caruth responded to having the opportunity. “Beyond grateful to be able to represent the sport I love on national television,” he later Tweeted.

Why was Rajah Caruth chosen to be on the NASCAR float?

NASCAR Vice President of Marketing Services Patrick Rogers pointed out that the float is honoring the sport’s past and is celebrating its present. He added that it’s fitting that  Caruth, who represents NASCAR’s present and future, joins petty on a historic day for them.

“NASCAR‘s 75th anniversary is all about honoring our past, celebrating our present, and looking to our future. It‘s only fitting that a driver like Rajah, who represents NASCAR‘s now and beyond, joins our all-time winningest driver on this historic day for our sport,” said Patrick Rogers.

Rajah Caruth is one of the upcoming talents from the drive for diversity academy. He was a professional iRacing driver picked up by the academy and given the opportunity to drive for them. Caruth raced in the grass root series and achieved a promotion to the national level. He finished P3 in his maiden full-time ARCA series.

Caruth will drive full-time in the Truck series in 2023 for GMS Racing’s No:24 team. He will pilot the Chevrolet Silverado with the Wendel Scott foundation as his primary sponsor. Rajah can prove his worth to the NASCAR garage and secure his maiden NASCAR win in 2023.
