For the first time in more than three decades, Vanna White will be temporarily M.I.A. at Wheel of Fortune. The producers are playing hardball. They replaced her with someone that no one better complain about, no one or else! The replacement pick is so… shall we say, touchy, it almost seems offensive.

She hasn't had a raise in 18 years? Fuck Sony, she deserves at least an adjustment for inflation. Sure, she has the easiest job in television, but still, that is insulting.

I feel bad no one cares that she's being replaced, but she really did age out of the job. And since it's no longer necessary for anyone to turn the letters, she's only kept the job at all because of the public's abiding affection for her.

I'm sorry she didn't get to choose the time of her leaving the job, but she had a very long run and will leave the job wealthy and still well known. It's hard to work up much sympathy for her.
