Wyoming Valley West High School recently conducted its annual senior awards ceremony on May 22. Fifty-two students were honored with 122 individual awards/honors. The total sum of monetary awards pledged by individual donors exceeded $45,000. Bara’a Kamal was recognized for receiving the Elizabeth Cadwalader Stoddart Scholarship through the LIU and Rebecca Bealla was awarded the inaugural Pamela K. Dommes Memorial Scholarship. Other highlights of the evening included Lilian Mahoney being named the Forty Fort Lions Club’s James J. McCulloch Award winner, Evelyn Saltz being named Senior of the Year by the faculty, and the PIAA Scholar Athlete Awards being presented to Olivia Yelen and Will Wojciechowski.
